“Hoot, hoot and yay” were my first responses after completing certifications for a safer one on one beauty experience through Milady’s and Barbicide. I’m admitting my happiness had nothing to do with the certificate or that I could ace tests but a slight calming of my anxiety about being up close and personal again with my peeps.
Before I get started sharing what the “safer situation” entails, I want to send a special thank you to my best bud for his words of wisdom during these extraordinary times, “learn to work within any constraint”. Thank you again.
A truth, nothing has changed with COVID-19. It’s dangerous. It’s silent. It’s still in our neighbourhoods, and in some areas, the numbers of sick are going up. And worst of all deadly, a realness to our anxiety.
Accordingly, how can we have a “safer situation” without true social distancing? I’m adopting many safety precautions from our healthcare professionals; granted beauty professionals aren’t equipped with steam autoclaves for sterilization, our line of defense is an elevation of personal hygiene, use of clean masks and use of clean gloves with each client as well as cleansing and disinfecting equipment after each client.
A clean and safe environment is our #1 priority.
We have a personal “safer” commitment to each other moving forward:
-Let’s not slack and become complacent. Safety first.
-Do our part keeping the community safe.
-Minimize the transmission of infectious diseases by washing up and masking up before your service.
-Be committed to health over beauty services. We asked that we both stay home if sick.
